Additive Manufacturing on a small scale and Emerging Trends in AM
This event will inform about the status quo of additive manufacturing of electronics and other applications of additive manufacturing that require small scale printing. Potential application areas are Organic LEDs, Organic Photovoltaic, flexible batteries, wearables including smart textiles, antennas, RFID chips etc. with use in many industries, like construction, health, fashion or transport.

We will bring together industry, supply chain, end users and academia either working in AM/3D printing presently and focussing on additive printing of electronics to look into discovering the benefits and potential challenges of the technologies at a small scale. Furthermore, we will look at emerging technologies in AM printing, like bio printing, nature inspired AM and 4D printing to give an outlook into the future. Presenters will have the opportunity to showcase their technologies and applications in the networking breaks.
Furthermore you have the opportunity to have 1:1 sessions with colleagues from Innovate UK and the Knowledge Transfer Network to advise on funding and how you can integrate additive manufacturing and emerging technologies to accelerate your business.
The day will present industry led case studies and cutting-edge research demonstrating the applications and advancements of small scale additive manufacturing in the UK, along with the support and funding available to take ideas forward. There will also be an opportunity for networking and discussions with leading end users, solution providers and developers of these technologies.
This event is brought together by KTN’s Additive Manufacturing Special Interest Group(SIG) which aims to create and promote new knowledge and knowledge transfer in the area of additive manufacturing and 3D printing (AM/3DP), primarily for the benefit of UK business and economic growth and the Emerging Technology and Industries Team.
