Healthy Ageing Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF) competitions

Innovate UK, ESRC and KTN are hosting an industry workshop to explain more about the thinking behind the Healthy Ageing Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF) competitions and to gather ideas and feedback on the potential level of interest from industry.

As part of the Healthy Ageing ISCF the government will invest up to £98m to create new consumer products and services underpinned by technology.  Research and innovation commissioned through the Healthy Ageing challenge will support people in the UK to remain healthy, active, productive, independent and connected to their communities into old age.  Household income has changed; 70% of UK wealth is held by those aged over 50.  The largest segment of Apple Watch owners is aged 55+ and the only growing smart phone market is the over 60s.  Ageing is increasingly becoming good business.

Later this year, UKRI will launch two competitions:

1. To develop a programme of demonstrator sites to combine multiple innovations into new products and services and demonstrate their use at scale.

2. A research programme to address social, behaviour and design issues associated with developing and scaling products and services for healthy ageing.

We want this challenge to kick-start the development of products and services for the ageing consumer and to do that we want to engage with industry sectors from property to product design and from software to sports.

If you would like to attend this event then please register your interest here.

The organisers reserve the right to amend/cancel the event, do not book any travel until you receive confirmation that you have been formally allocated a place to attend direct from the KTN.
