IDP14 Competition Briefing
The Government’s ambition is that nearly all vehicles on UK roads will be zero emission by 2050. Much progress has been made over recent years to significantly reduce tailpipe emissions from diesel and gasoline engines and this is expected to continue. Government support via the Integrated Deliver Programme (IDP) series is focused on achieving zero emissions and accelerating the uptake of zero emissions vehicles.
The IDP is part of the network of support for the automotive industry available in the UK. The Research Councils provide support for fundamental science. The IDP provides support for proof of concept. The Advanced Propulsion Centre provides support pre-commercialisation.
This event marks the main competition brief for IDP14, the latest competition in the IDP series. Supporting IDP14 is a £20m investment by The Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV). UK business can apply for a share of the available funding to develop zero emission technologies. As the delivery partner, Innovate UK will manage all new and innovative IDP14 projects that contribute to economic growth, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution on our roads.
At the event OLEV and Innovate UK will provide an update on our progress across zero emission vehicles. You will also hear about the scope of IDP14, which for the first time includes an additional focus around medium and heavy goods vehicles. There will be opportunities to network with organisations from across the automotive supply chain and speak directly to Innovate UK.
This event will benefit business of all sizes (micro, SME and large) academics and local authorities with an interest in ultra low or zero emission vehicles. Organisations who have been involved in any past or current Innovate UK competitions in the automotive space are strongly encouraged to attend.
A full agenda will be published shortly.
