Optimising Energy Systems event - Expression of Interest
‘Clean Growth’ is one of the four Grand Challenges highlighted in the Government’s Industrial Strategy but how will we achieve it? One of the key routes to achieving clean growth will undoubtedly be through smart local energy systems which integrate heat, power and transport.
The world is embarking on a revolution in how energy is supplied. Over the coming decades at least $2 trillion each year will be invested around the world in the transition to low carbon power, transport, heat and localised, digitally-connected energy systems. The UK has world-leading energy and environmental researchers, businesses, policy, regulation, technologies, infrastructure and innovators. We believe that integrating these through a smart local energy systems approach will give the UK the opportunity to develop an industry built around delivering new consumer-friendly energy services and markets that are cheaper, cleaner, flexible, and more resilient to environmental and social change.
KTN will host a unique event to bring together industry experts, innovators and Government with interests in this area to understand how we can unlock this potential to support the clean growth agenda.
The event will be an opportunity to;
hear about the current energy system landscape with regional activities in the UK.
hear from leading industry experts about the future of energy systems across the different market areas: heat, power and transport and how these markets can be brought together with intelligent systems and business models
Contribute to a panel discussion on what policy changes are needed to realise this opportunity.
hear from BEIS, Innovate UK and the KTN about current funding opportunities where businesses can leverage support in this area.
