Applications for Year 3, Phase 1 of the Cyber Security Academic Startup Accelerator Programme are now open

Posted on: 11/02/2019

Academics based in a UK institution can apply for a share of £800,000 to join Year 3 of the CyberASAP programme.

KTN are pleased to announce that the CyberASAP programme, after two successful years, will be running for a third year. The programme, which is funded by DCMS in collaboration with Innovate UK and KTN, helps academics in UK universities commercialise their cyber security ideas.

The programme has three phases and culminates in a Demo Day where the remaining teams get the opportunity to pitch their products to investors and industrialists.

Applications are open for Phase 1 (Development of Value Proposition) of a year-long programme which will last up to four months. Successful applicants will move onto Phase 2 (Market Validation of Value Proposition) and will potentially be eligible for Phase 3 (Development of Minimum Viable Product).

In the Phase 1, teams are supported by industry experts to develop their research into a value proposition, determine the potential value of an idea, scope the opportunity, and identify a business model, route to market and further development.

Throughout the programme, teams are given intensive support from industry and KTN. To find out more about Phase 1 and to apply, visit the competition page here. The closing date is 6th March 2019.

There will be a webinar for interested parties on Wednesday 13th February, 12.15pm-2pm: click here to register for a free place.
