DIATOMIC Second Open Call is Open

The DIATOMIC Open Call #2 for microelectronics-enabled experiments is now open until 31st January with a total of €1,610,000 funding available.

Through the second DIATOMIC Open Call, up to €200,000 equity-free funding is available per application experiment, along with tailored tech and business support. DIATOMIC is an exclusive network of Digital Innovation Hubs with the aim of bringing new microelectronics-enabled products, processes, and business models to life. The network provides access to funding opportunities, cutting-edge tech and business support services.

DIATOMIC provides €1,610,000 in equity-free funding in its Design-Develop-Market program. The call for proposals (Application Experiments) is open until 31st January. DIATOMIC seeks innovative solutions to challenges from health, agrifood, and manufacturing sectors, using electronic components, sensors, smart objects and systems. Through its network of digital innovation hubs, DIATOMIC provides technological support to accelerate application development, prototyping and experimentation, as well as business support to develop solutions with a robust product/market fit, and to chart the path to market growth and investment. Following the evaluation and selection process, each experiment will enter the DIATOMIC Design-Develop-Market program which lasts between 9 and 15 months.

Those that are eligible are small consortia (2 to 3 partners) from the EU and H2020 associated countries. These could include technology providers in advanced microelectronics and smart systems integrations, i.e. tech start-ups/SMEs and non-industry legal entities (i.e. Competence Centres). Applications could also come from technology adopters/users, for instance SMEs active in health, agrifood, and/or manufacturing (industry 4.0). The budget per experiment may vary from €70,000 to €200,000.
