Far Composites: Revolutionising lightweight materials for a low-carbon future

Posted on 16/04/2018

Building important partnerships and raising brand awareness was key to Far Composites’ business development.

Based in Nottingham, Far Composites designs and conceptualises new materials and processes, specialising in low carbon vehicles.  In 2014, Far Composites was starting out on its journey to contact and build networks aided by KTN who worked with them to make the right introductions.  Collaboration with Ultrawise Innovation, the University of Hertfordshire and several other companies resulted in Innovate UK funding for ‘Rapid polymer to metal joints’ development.

KTN involvement didn’t stop there and in 2016 KTN invited Far Composites to exhibit at the Advanced Engineering show, which helped raise brand awareness, and gain face-to-face contact with a number of prospective investors.

“KTN has given us a profile and provided us with the opportunity to get out there. It is very powerful seeing people face to face, like at the NEC show, starting a conversation and building networks – it provides a cascade effect. The interest we have generated has helped us reach new customers.” – Lyndon Sanders, General Manager, Far Composites.
