Formulating the future for biopharmaceuticals

Posted on: 24/05/2017

KTN will be holding the next Biopharmaceutical Formulation Group (BFG) meeting in Manchester on 11th July 2017.

Biopharmaceuticals are medical drugs (pharmaceuticals) that are produced using biotechnology. Well known examples of biopharmaceutical products include recombinant human insulin for the treatment of diabetes and Avastin for the treatment of various cancers.

KTN’s Biopharmaceutical Formulation Group (BFG) brings together professionals and practitioners from industry and academia to disseminate and share best practice, and highlight skills requirements for this sector.

The group holds regular meetings to educate, network and influence professionals and practitioners from the field of biopharmaceutical formulation. The next Biopharmaceutical Formulation Group meeting will look forward to the future of formulation, particularly within the UK, featuring a selection of speakers who represent the many facets of the modern formulation sector from the biopharma field and beyond. The University of Manchester’s Centre of Excellence in Biopharmaceuticals (COEbP) and Manchester Institute of Biotechnology (MIB) are hosting the event, which alongside other support allows us to deliver it as a free event for the biopharmaceutical formulation sector.

The event programme aligns with the KTN’s activities in biopharmaceutical formulation, and wider formulation community as well as the Medicines Manufacturing Industry Partnership (MMIP).
