Have you got ideas to improve transportation in Africa and South Asia?

Transport-Technology Research Innovation for International Development (T-TRIID) competition launches 5th July 2018.

A new competition that helps companies develop novel ideas to improve transportation in Africa and South Asia is launching on the 5th July. The Transport-Technology Research Innovation for International Development (T-TRIID) competition provides funding up to £30,000 for 10 collaborative projects which show potential to address transport challenges in various countries in Africa and the Asia subcontinent.

The funding comes from the UK Government’s Department for International Development and the programme is supported by IMC Worldwide and the Knowledge Transfer Network. Successful applicants will need to demonstrate that their project delivers technical, operational or policy-based solutions in the following themes: long distance strategic road and rail, urban transport, low carbon transport and gender, accessibility and inclusion (particularly the disabled) in High Volume Transport.

T-TRIID follows a similar model to the Department for Transport’s ‘T-TRIG’ grant scheme in which £1.14m was allocated to support UK based initiatives.

The competition is open to all types of companies of any size, anywhere in the world, although the project itself must support one of the beneficiary countries, listed here. Collaborations across companies, and from within beneficiary countries, are encouraged and will gain extra credit in the assessment.
