KTN to host a Consortia Building Workshop to support organisations interested in European Funding for Bio-Based Industries (BBI)
The Annual Work Plan and Budget 2019 for the Bio-Based Industries Joint Undertaking has been published. This event will highlight the support available.

*** Announcement: The sixth BBI JU Call for Proposals 2019 is now open (4 April 2019) with indicative budget of EUR 135 million for a total of 21 topics with 10 Research & Innovation Actions topics, 4 Coordination & Support Actions, 4 Demonstration projects and 3 Flagship projects. covering Feedstock, Process, Products, and Market uptake. The 2019 AWP is the sixth one on the critical path towards 2020. It continues to be based on the acceleration of the development of new sustainable value chains from biomass feedstock supply via efficient processing, to the acceptance and application of bio-based products in the end-markets. This is a single stage call with a deadline of 4th September 2019.
The scientific priorities for 2019 are the following:
1. foster the supply of sustainable biomass feedstock to feed both existing and new value chains;
2. optimise efficient processing for integrated biorefineries through research, development and
innovation;
3. develop innovative bio-based products for identified market applications;
4. create and accelerate the market-uptake of bio-based products and applications.
KTN will host a Consortia Building Workshop on 2nd May 2019 to brief potential applicants, and give an overview of the Call, topics and support that will be available to UK organisations. 
N.B. UK businesses benefitting from Horizon 2020 research funding are urged to register their details with the government so they can continue to receive funding if the UK leaves the EU with no deal, Science Minister Chris Skidmore announced on 29th January 2019.

Funding from EU programmes guaranteed until the end of 2020
The UK government announced at the end of July 2018 that it will guarantee funding secured by UK organisation through EU programmes, even in a no deal scenario. This means that successful bids for EU funding until the end of 2020 will receive their full financial allocation and will continue to receive funding over the project’s lifetime.
