MedConNecT North Event, 9th November, St James’ Park, Newcastle, to showcase business support available to SMEs and NHS/academic staff.

On 9th November the third event for MedConNecT North will take place at St. James’ Park in Newcastle, in collaboration with the North East and North Cumbria Academic Health Science Network (NENC AHSN), The Newcastle In Vitro Diagnostics Co-operative (Newcastle MIC) and The National Institute of Health Research Clinical Research Network (NIHR CRN).

Topics for the day include how national organisations can support industry to develop their innovations, an overview of the global landscape, examples of successful collaboration between NHS and industry, as well as sessions on big data and funding.

The event will showcase the support available to SMEs and NHS/academic staff to enable successful collaboration for medical technology research development. The day will provide excellent networking opportunities, connecting SMEs that design medical technologies with the regional NHS, to enable the development of these technologies through clinical research and evidence generation. The event will demonstrate case studies of how, as a region, support is provided on a global scale.

KTN’s Caroline Chibelushi and David Calder will be collaborating with NHS Newcastle on this event.
