Plastics Pitchfest 2019

UKCPN (the UK Circular Plastics Network) & KTN’s Access to Funding & Finance Team have launched Plastics Pitchfest 2019.

KTN’s Access to Funding and Finance Team and the UK Circular Plastics Network (UKCPN) are hosting a FREE Investor Readiness Programme and pitching competition from the end of March until 1st May 2019.

Plastics Pitchfest is a free to enter pitching competition, open to companies working in any aspect of the plastics industry supply chain. If you’re solving problems for the environment and working towards sustainability then this could be for you. It will provide a unique opportunity to raise the profile of the plastics industry in front of a national audience of investors. This will be preceded by a dedicated Investor Readiness Programme. To apply you must first be a member of the UK Circular Plastics Network – if you have not yet done so, you can sign up for free by clicking here.

This Investor Readiness Programme prepares companies for a rigorous selection step, providing the skills for developing and presenting a strong business pitch to investors and possible business partners.

This program targets companies working in the plastics sphere that are looking to become investor ready, providing them with three days of training spread over a month. Communication skills, background information on the various types of funding, and insight into the investors’ perspective will be covered in the training.

If selected, businesses are exposed to investment opportunities through a pitching competition where they are invited to present their ideas, pitch for investment and take part in a showcase event.

At the end of the programme, companies will be able to better prepare an investor pitch and be confident in the delivery of their ‘story’. Companies that are successful on the selection day will pitch to a national audience of investors.

 

Programme

Here is a summary of what to expect throughout the programme:

28th March: Investment Readiness Programme Day 1, Birmingham

4th April: Investment Readiness Programme Day 2, Birmingham

Days 1 and 2 form a coherent package and provide delegates with theory followed by practical experience of making a pitch.

23rd April: Selection Panel, Business Design Centre, Islington, London

Companies arrive for designated time to pitch to a panel of stakeholders including those from industry, a friendly investor and supporting organisations.

1st May: Plastics Circular Economy Pitchfest, Keltie LLP, 1 London Bridge, London SE1 9BA, UK

Selected companies will present their opportunity to a room of investors.

 

APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN

APPLY FOR FREE FOR A PLACE TODAY. 15 companies will be selected from interested registrants to attend the training event, practice event and selection day. The companies chosen to present at the showcase day will be selected from these 15 companies. All applicants must be able to attend all four events. Open to all working in any aspect of the supply chain in the plastics sphere.
