The Ageing Society Grand Challenge Mission: Investment Accelerator

Posted on 19/05/2020

KTN to host a briefing event on the ISCF Healthy Ageing Challenge Investment Accelerator on 15th June.

UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) is pleased to be working in partnership with three private investors, Barclays Ventures, Legal & General and Northstar Ventures, to support UK SMEs and Start-Ups looking to develop and take to market innovations that address the ISCF healthy ageing challenges.

The healthy ageing market we are investing in is very diverse. It ranges from helping people remain physically active through to managing the impacts of ageing, such as hearing loss and cognitive impairment. On the way, innovations will help people live independently in their own homes for longer and enable them to remain engaged with their communities.  These solutions will address the ISCF for Healthy Ageing’s ‘seven themes of ageing’ which are described in the link above.

To find out more about how the Healthy Ageing Investment Accelerator works, how businesses can apply and what the investors and Innovate UK are seeking please apply to join us an online briefing. This will be held at 15th June 2020 at 14:00.

Spaces are limited for this online event and you will be asked to complete a short survey and will be informed about your place by 10th June. Those successful will also be provided more information and joining instructions.

As part of their partnership with Innovate UK, three ‘Investment Partners’ have been selected to support innovative businesses solving ‘Healthy Ageing’ related core challenges. Certain equity funding provided by these Investment Partners will be matched by grant funding provided by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). Only companies receiving equity investment from one of the Investment Partners will be able to apply for the Innovate UK grant.
