Mohan is the Knowledge Transfer Adviser for East London, Essex and Suffolk.
He brings a wealth of experience from the aerospace and defence sector. His career started as a trials officer at Boscombe Down assessing military aircraft systems. This was followed by an MBA from the Cranfield School of Management with a focus on innovation and entrepreneurship. He was able to put theory into practice as a TCS associate (predecessor to the Knowledge Transfer Partnership) at the University of Leicester where he helped to commercialise technologies from space imaging into biotechnology and healthcare markets. This gave him the confidence to set up his own start-up space rocket company after winning a DTI Smart award. Although ultimately unsuccessful it was a tremendous learning experience that was fully utilised in his next role at MBDA. There, he supported the Chief Technologist as the Emergent Technology Manager pulling technologies out of universities and managing research projects and later as the SME Development Manager, he helped to drive innovation in the supply chain.
Mohan is a Chartered Engineer with the Royal Aeronautical Society and also a Trustee for Luton Culture, where he mixes art and science to support the creative sector.
