Nicole Ballantyne

Knowledge Transfer Manager, Manufacturing

Profile overview

Nicole is a member of the manufacturing team in KTN which helps manufacturers to innovate – both in their products and in their processes. It does this by making targeted links to the right knowledge, partners, facilities and funding.

Nicole started her career with 11 years working for a global packaging manufacturer, in diverse roles including TPM Coordinator, Process Engineer, WCM Manager and ERP Implementation team lead. She then spent 4 years at a SME manufacturer of industrial coatings – initially as their international business development manager, and latterly in a product development technology transfer role. Nicole then moved into the public sector with roles as a Technology & Innovation Manager for a sustainability delivery organisation, and as a regional Growth Manager for the national Growth Accelerator programme. Following a couple of years working cross sector on R&D Tax credit submissions and innovation consultancy, she re-joins her spiritual home working with Manufacturers in the Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) in 2018.

Nicole is a chartered Mechanical Engineer and holds a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, a Diploma of Imperial – Total Technology (City&Guilds), and an M.Sc. in Quality Management from Cranfield.
