Rajesh’s role is to bolster relationships within the UK chemistry, manufacturing and industrial biotechnology (IB) sectors through information divestment, knowledge exchange and direction to appropriate funding streams. He is actively involved with Biocomposites UK and the Lignocellulosic Biorefinery Network (LBNet). Raj is also a work package leader for the FP7 European Project BIOOX, which looks at developing a validated technology platform for the application of oxygen dependent enzymes in the synthesis and transformation of alcohols. He has 16 years of industry expertise specialising in industrial biotechnology, with a particular focus on whole cell biocatalysis, fermentation, assay development and analysis. Raj holds a BSc in Chemistry with Chemical Engineering, an MSc in Analytical Chemistry, and an MBA. He is a Sainsbury Management Fellow.
