Break Through Innovation with early stage design

Posted on 04/04/2018

Valuable insights to help your business with breakthrough innovations

There were valuable insights from the projects that were funded by Design Foundations, from new investment propositions to refined product and service offerings and even transformed business models across the 90 companies. In creating so much potential and opportunity, we would like to share insights from how these companies from across multiple sectors can help your business, in ‘Break Through Innovation’.

There is a great deal of evidence demonstrating that businesses that use early-stage design in the innovation process generate increased revenue, market share and exports, as well as having a faster and more cost-effective innovation process.

KTN, the UK’s innovation network, is hosting the Break Through Innovation event on Tuesday 22 May in London to showcase the wealth of diverse experiences from the Design Foundations funded projects and look at the early stage design process. You will hear from companies about different applications of human-centred design and benefits in managing risk in the innovation journey as well as increased clarity and confidence for business development and communicating novel propositions for investors. KTN experts can help you find the right commercial collaborators, identify and approach the next level of funding or gain access to new markets, sectors, technologies and opportunities.

The cross-cutting and sector specific support from KTN includes:

· Access to funding and finance

· Digital and IoT

· Manufacturing

· Health

· Built environment and smart cities

· Design and innovation process

By attending this event, businesses will engage with a wide range of connections, and learn how to overcome similar problems, and how best to manage risk when developing new products, services or processes. The event is also open to designers and design thinkers, who can offer new perspectives and help businesses facing problems in their innovation journey.
